Syria’s participation in “Gulfood 2023” indicates gradual recovery of Syrian industrial sector

The Syrian pavilion in the “Gulfood 2023” Exhibition in Dubai witnessed a notable turnout by visitors from different countries. 30 Syrian companies specialized in food industries, sponsored by the Ministry of the Economy and Foreign Trade, in addition to 15 other private companies, took part in the event, which concluded on Friday.

Syria’s participation in this event indicates the gradual recovery of the Syrian industrial sector, particularly the food industries which have managed to cover the local market and secured a surplus for exportation to different foreign markets, according to Thaer Fayyad, Director General of the Local Production and Export Support and Development Authority.

He added that the exhibition was an opportunity for signing several contracts and export deals with the aim of  introducing high quality Syrian products to Arab and international markets.

The participating Syrian companies were specialized in the production and marketing of olive oil, spices, conserves, hot and cold drinks, sweets, chocolate, and other Syrian food products that proved their distinction in Arab and foreign markets.
