A UN official expresses concern about the Israeli aggression against Syria

Damascus (ST): The United Nations Resident Coordinator and Acting Humanitarian Coordinator in Syria, Mike Robson, expressed his concern about the Israeli aggression on Syria last Sunday, stressing that attacks against civilians should never be launched.

In a statement published by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on its website, Robson said that he is deeply concerned about the attack that targeted, early Sunday morning, the Kafr Souseh neighborhood in Damascus, and hit a residential building, resulting in civilian casualties, including a female pharmacist, and the injury of several others. At least five others were severely damaged, and a number of buildings in the neighborhood were severely damaged, forcing residents of some of them to evacuate their homes. Also, the cultural center in Kafr Souseh and two educational facilities inside the Damascus Citadel were severely damaged, namely the Technical Institute for Archeology and Museums and the Technical Institute for Applied Arts.

The statement indicated that civilians suffer from the tragic consequences of the ongoing hostilities in parts of Syria, in addition to the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on the sixth of February, stressing that it is absolutely not permissible to launch attacks against civilians or civilian objects.
