On February 23rd, the Governor of Aleppo Hussein Diab discussed with the Belarusian Ambassador in Damascus Yuri Sloka ways to strengthen joint cooperation relations between the Aleppo Governorate and the Belarusian cities in the light of the challenges facing the two countries.
The governor stressed the depth of the relations between the two friendly countries and peoples and the importance of coordination and cooperation in many political and economic fields.
He underlined the positions of the Belarusian government during the unjust terrorist war against Syria and its stand today with the Syrian people and their support in their current ordeal.
He thanked the initiative of Belarus to open the field hospital in Aleppo to provide medical services for those affected by the earthquake.
For his part, the Belarusian ambassador offered condolences to the earthquake victims, pointing to the strategic cooperation relations between the two countries.
He indicated the importance of strengthening economic relations between a number of Belarusian and Syrian cities, especially Aleppo, which constitutes an industrial and commercial weight, and the need to coordinate with businessmen, industrialists, and government agencies, and exchange visits and experiences.
He inspected the field hospital that was set up in the Ismailia neighborhood of Aleppo, and was briefed on the medical and health services it provides to patients affected by the earthquake disaster.
