Iran Confirms its Intention to reciprocate the European Union Sanctions.

Iranian Foreign MinistryspokesmanNasser Kanaani affirmed that his country will soon announce a list of counter-sanctions in response to the sanctions recently imposed by the European Union.

Iranian News Agency, IRNA quoted Kanaani as saying in a statement today: “in response to the recent sanctions imposed by the European Union against Iranian citizens and some state institution, Iran will soon announce its counter-sanctions”, stressing that ”the West hostile actions against Iran are unacceptable, non-constructive, and contrary to the United Nation Charter and international system. The West has no right to interfere in the internal affairs of the independent states.”

Kanaani pointedout that his country ”will not hesitate to use its capabilities and its legal rights to deter the wrong and non-constructive behavior of these countries and take measures at the right time”.

And in response to a question about the negotiations related to the exchange of the prisoners, Kanaani said that his country dealt with this issue from a humanitarian point of view, pointing out that the indirect negotiations on the exchange of the prisoners take place through a mediator but they were not completed because of Washington’s bad intentions.

Kanaani explained that the United States continues to detain the prisoners and imprison Iranian citizens because of baseless accusations.
