Sabbagh reaffirms Syria’s constant keenness on joint Arab action

Speaker of yhe People’s Assembly Hamouda Sabbagh stressed, during his meeting today with Bahrain’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Syria Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, the importance and depth of Syrian-Bahraini fraternal relations, indicating that Syria is always keen on joint Arab action.

Sabbagh urged concerted efforts by all Arab countries to achieve joint Arab solidarity in the face of the challenges before them, stating that this meeting, together with other Syrian-Arab meetings, will be a prelude to further action to strengthen Arab-Arab relations.

He also expressed hope that Syria’s relations with Bahrain would develop qualitatively in the near future, appreciating Bahrain’s honorable positions on Syria and Ambassador Sayyar’s role in promoting and developing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.

Ambassador Sayyar stressed that every Arab effort to strengthen relations between the Arab States contributes to unifying the Arab position on various regional and international issues in the interest of future Arab generations.

He expressed Bahrain’s readiness to provide all possible assistance to Syria to face the repercussions of the devastating earthquake.

He pointed out that Bahrain will soon send a medical team to Syria specialized in treating disaster injuries with the aim of providing treatment  to those injured by the earthquake, as well as providing humanitarian assistance to those affected, including medicines, equipment, shelter supplies and generators.

Ambassador Sayyar reiterated his country’s invitation to the President of the People’s Assembly and several members of the Council to participate in the meetings of the forthcoming Inter-Parliamentary Union in Bahrain, stating that the Bahraini House of Representatives is currently forming the Bahraini Arab Parliamentary Brotherhood Association, which includes the Bahraini-Syrian Friendship Committee to contribute to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations.
