Minister Miqdad: Condemning the Israeli aggression to deter it from killing civilians and violating the sovereignty of states
On February 19th, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, met with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Syria
Minister al-Miqdad stressed the need for an urgent condemnation of the Israeli criminal aggression in order to deter it from not proceeding with its aim of killing civilians and violating the sovereignty of states.
During the meeting which took place in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Damascus, minister al-Miqdad said that the Israeli attack yesterday with missiles on civilian neighborhoods in Damascus and its environs is a crime against humanity, especially that it happened at a time when Syria was dealing with the catastrophic consequences of the earthquake.
He indicated that if the so-called international community fails to stop Israel’s criminal actions, this matter will encourage it to commit more crimes and take more innocent lives, and that the continuation of the terrorist occupation government’s brutal attacks and crimes against the Palestinian and Syrian people constitutes a threat for peace and security in the region.
He referred to the clear link between the terrorist organization (ISIS) and the Israeli entity, especially since the recent crime (ISIS) that led to the death of dozens of unarmed civilians in the eastern countryside of Homs was committed by ISIS at almost the same time.
He called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Security Council to immediately intervene to condemn (Israel) and hold it accountable for this crime, and to press for the lifting of unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.
