Regional Center for Early Childhood Development discusses plan for the current year with UNICEF , UNESCO representatives

Participants in the meeting for discussing the programs of the Regional Center for Early Childhood Development plan for the year 2023 stressed the need to build national capacities in the first stage of a child’s life (nursery), amend and develop the kindergarten curricula, in addition to  providing  psychological and social support for the early childhood stage.

The meeting, in which the directors of the central administration of the center, representatives of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Educational , Scientific  and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Aga Khan Development Foundation participated, called for the preparation of a package of training measures in the field of child rights

The meeting stressed the importance of  raising the community’s awareness of early childhood issues building a network of early childhood services, holding  reading initiatives to develop twenty-first century skills and preparing  research on developing the culture of environmental peace through activities.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, indicated the need to develop a clear plan to expand the opening of sections entitled  “get ready to enroll in school” , and to exchange regional experiences in the field of developing that stage.

In turn,  the Director of the Regional Center for Early Childhood Development, Kifah Al-Haddad, noted  the plan should  include national and regional projects based on research and comparison of educational systems applied in the field of early childhood, stressing the importance of training on project planning and construction according to operational steps.
