Iran strongly condemns the Israeli aggression against Syria

Iran has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted points in and around Damascus, leaving five martyrs and wounding 15 others.

“The new aggression of the Zionist entity on Syrian territory coincided with the terrorist attacks committed by the “Daesh” organization in the eastern countryside of Homs. The full connection and coordination between these two terrorist entities constitutes an inherent natural relationship between them. In light of the circumstances that Syria is facing pertaining to  the devastating earthquake, these two entities are trying to exacerbate the pain and suffering of the people of this country,”IRNA news agency quoted Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani as saying.

Kanani described the silence of Western countries regarding the repeated Israeli violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as shameful.

Kanani called on the international community and responsible international institutions, especially the UN Security Council, to take immediate, serious and effective measures to respond to the aggression of the Zionist terrorist regime against a member state of the United Nations.

Five people were killed and 15 others were wounded as a result of an Israeli air attack that targeted points in and around Damascus, including residential neighborhoods.
