Spain affirms its rejection of the new Israeli settlement expansion plan in occupied Palestinian territories

Madrid, (ST) – The Spanish government announced its rejection of the Israeli occupation government’s decision to build more settlement units in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Spanish government said in a statement on Wednesday“: Spain expresses its rejection of the measures announced by the Israeli occupation government to expand its settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, and expresses its concern over all the unilateral measures that impede the realization of the legitimate national aspirations of the Palestinians and threaten regional peace and security”.

In addition, the European Union yesterday renewed its position that the settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories are illegal under international law. They called on the Israeli occupation to stop expanding settlements and cancel its decisions in this regard quickly

The Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, confirmed that all Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories are illegal in accordance with international law, calling on “Israel” to stop its unilateral measures and abide by international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
