Damascus countryside, (ST) – The youth volunteer teams continue to provide all their human, material and in-kind capabilities to provide relief to those affected by the earthquake. These teams did not hesitate in providing help in various fields. The “Darayya Hope” volunteer team took initiatives to help the people in the affected governorates.
The initiative included a blood donation campaign from all team members in the city, in addition to providing clothes and food, in coordination with the Syrian Trust for Development. The aim is to deliver more than 10,000 pieces of clothing and distribute them in the affected areas.
The Director of the team, lawyer Mazen Al-Azeb, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the culture of volunteering is linked to the scientific and cultural progress of societies, so “it was necessary for us to benefit from all our capabilities and energy in providing financial aid, first aid and food, expressing the readiness of the locals in the city of Darayya to receive our people from all affected governorates.
He pointed out that coordination has been made with the city councils, the mayors, the local community, the divisions of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, and the Committee of Friends to form committees to accept donations for the benefit of those affected in the governorates.
The young volunteer, Reham Haidar indicated that the team put forward a set of initiatives from the first moment of the disaster, with the aim of participating in providing material and psychological support to the people affected by the earthquake, donating blood, and working to collect aid and fully prepare it. She added that the team works as one family to secure everything needed to the affected people.
“Darayya Hop” team was established in 2019, with a total of 75 participants from various segments of the local community, including students of institutes and universities, teachers, employees, nurses, and free works.
