Beirut Airport will receive 3 Romanian planes loaded with aid for the relief of the victims of earthquake in Syria, says Hamieh

Beirut, (ST) – The Lebanese Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamieh, announced that Beirut International Airport will receive 3 Romanian planes carrying aid from the European Union to provide relief to the victims of the earthquake in Syria.

The Lebanese National News Agency quoted Hamieh as saying in a statement on Tuesday: “In continuation of Beirut airport activities to receive humanitarian aid carried by planes coming from abroad to be transffered to the earthquake-stricken people in Syria via the Lebanese territory.

 “After the four planes that landed at the airport, once again to receive three Romanian planes carrying aid from the European Union to Syria through it”, Hamieh added.

Hamieh indicated that the landing of these planes will be in succession, starting today and during the next two days in the morning, reaffirming Lebanon’s commitment to open its airspace and seaports to all those wishing to provide aid to Syria.
