Syrian Students in Iran Appeal the UN to play its humanitarian role in assisting quake-affected Syrians

Tehran, (ST) – The Syrian students in Iran appealed to the United Nations to play its humanitarian role to help the Syrian people overcome the repercussions of the devastating earthquake that struck the country.

This came in a statement issued today by the brunch of the Syrian Student Union in Iran during a stand of solidarity in front of the UN headqurters in Tehran.

The statement, delivered by the head of Union brunch Ali Abbas to the representative of the UN, said: “We, Syrian students in Iran, appeal to you and your conscience and sense of responsibility, to put pressure on the international community to play its role and to provide humanitarian support from the concerned organizations and all countries without politicization”.

They added that they call on the UN to play their institutional humanitarian role and help lift all the unfair sanctions imposed on the Syrian people and which have affected their livelihood and health.
