An earthquake measuring 3.5 degrees hits northeast Lattakia

On February 12th, an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck this morning, 14 kilometers northeast of the city of Latakia.

The National Earthquake Center said in a statement: “The stations of the national seismic monitoring network at the Center recorded an earthquake measuring 3.5 degrees on the Richter scale at 10:12 minutes, 14 kilometers northeast of Lattakia, at a depth of 12 kilometers.”

The National Earthquake Center added that the epicenter was at the intersection of longitude 35.605 and latitude 35.909.
