Syrian governorates send relief aid convoys to people affected by earthquake in Lattakia, Aleppo and Hama

As part of the campaign “from family to family”, a new batch of aid was sent today from Al-Suwayda to the earthquake-affected people in Hama, in addition to an ambulance and a mobile clinic with their staff to Lattakia to support the efforts of the Health Directorate there.

A relief aid convoy also departed from Homs governorate to those affected by the earthquake in the governorates of Aleppo and Lattakia.

The convoy includes more than 15 trucks accompanied by a number of association volunteers to supervise the distribution operations.

Secretary of the Sub-Committee for Relief in Homs, Adnan Naasa, indicated that this is the second batch of the aid convoy to the stricken areas, which, in his opinion, embodies the morals of the Syrians who have always been united in times of adversity and crisis.

Director of Social Affairs and Labor, Eng. Samar Al-Mustafa, stated that the civil society in Homs stands by its brothers in the affected governorates to provide everything that would contribute to alleviating their suffering.

Head of the Sports Federation branch in Homs, Muhammad Harbeh, referred to the participation of athletes from Al-Karama, Al-Wathba and Al-Makhramclubs in the convoy as part of the Homs athletes’ endeavor to be present effectively in crises.

Secretary of the Arab Democratic Union Party in Homs and a member of the leadership of the National Progressive Front branch in Homs, Amer al-Sibai, considered that the aid that is launched today towards the stricken areas is a token of loyalty to the afflicted people of our country, to help them overcome the ordeal.

President of Al-Makhram Club, Suleiman Al-Jaber, stated that their participation in the convoy came two days after the club’s youth launched an initiative to collect donations for the earthquake victims, which reflects the youth’s eagerness to engage in volunteer work to alleviate the suffering of the people of the affected areas.

Head of the Karim Charity Association, Issa Badran, spoke about the association’s participation for the second time in the support convoy departing from Homs, as an affirmation of the Syrians’ standing with each other in the ordeals and humanitarian conditions.

From the Circassian Charitable Society in Homs, Muhammad Louka stated that the association’s participation in the support convoy is the result of a 4-day effort of collecting in-kind donations for the earthquake victims, and the turnout was great to support the Syrians.

From the Child Welfare Association, Wassim Bakkarreferred to the contacts made with parties concerned in the affected areas, to find out the basic needs, and accordingly, the various requirements have been secured and packed.

From the participation of the local community, AlaaTarsha, the founder of the Fazaa Initiative, noted that what motivates Syrians to contribute to relief work is the call of duty, stressing that aid is delivered daily to those who need it in the affected areas.

A number of athletes, such as Muhammad Qamariya, Nibras Barakat, and Dergham Shahoud, found that their voluntary response came out of their humanitarian duty to be present, to provide everything they have for our people in the afflicted governorates.
