Pope Francis calls on the international community to provide urgent assistance to Syria earthquake victims

Vatican, (ST) – The Pope of the Vatican, Pope Francis on Wednesday renewed his calling on the international community to provide urgent assistance to those affected by the devastating earthquake that hit the region the day before yesterday.

Pope Francis in a statement expressed his solidarity with the families of the victims who lost their lives in this devastating catastrophe.

He called on the international community to show solidarity and provide urgent assistance to Syria, which has suffered for long, according to the Vatican News Agency.

Yesterday, Pope Francis expressed his deep sorrow over the devastating earthquake that struck Syria, causing heavy losses in lives and property.

He offered his condolences to the Syrian people, affirmed his support for all those affected and his solidarity with the Syrian people.
