Prague, (ST) – The Executive Secretary of the Czech-Moravian-Silizko Confederation of Trade Unions Martin Bec affirmed the solidarity of the Czech trade unions with Syria and their rejection of the continuation of the unilateral Western sanctions imposed on it.
In a statement to SANA correspondent in Prague today, Bec offered his deepest condolences to Syria and the families of the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck it the day before yesterday, stressing that the position of the Czech progressive unions does not change, which is to demand an end to all kinds of inhumane pressures exerted against Syria, and to demand assistance for the afflicted Syrian people as a result the earthquake.
Bec called on the Czech government to send aid to Syria to support it in the difficult circumstances it is facing.
