Arab journalists and politicians call for lifting the unjust siege imposed on Syria

Muscat, (ST) – A number of Omani journalists have expressed their full solidarity with Syria following the earthquake that hit it at dawn on Monday. They called for lifting the unjust Western blockade imposed on it.

Hatim bin Hamad Al-Taie, member of the Omani State Council and editor-in-chief of “Al-Ruya” daily newspaper expressed in a special statement to SANA corespondent in Muscat the condolences of the Omani people to the families of the victims and the afflicted. He called on the Arab countries and the international community to provide aid to the Syrian people as to alleviate their suffering.

Muhammad Al-Balushi, editor-in-chief of the Omani “Al-Shabiba” newspaper, stressed that the earthquake that hit Syria and the victims and losses it caused requires the international community to provide assistance by lifting the unjust sanctions imposed by the West.

The Omani writer and journalist Suleiman Al-Maamari stressed that “what our people in Syria have been subjected to requires from us, as Arabs, in our governmental and private institutions and charitable societies to provide aid. He called for lifting of this unjust siege because it is a great disgrace against humanity.

Meantime, members of the Syrian community in the Sultanate of Oman organized a donation campaign to support those affected by the earthquake, as dozens of them flocked to the headquarters of the Syrian embassy in Muscat.

A number of Syrian expatriates in Oman called for lifting the unjust siege imposed on their country, Syria. They also said that this blockade to which Syria is subjected is causing great suffering to Syrian people, and an international move is required to lift it.

The expatriates in Oman appealed to all expatriate everywhere to support their families in Syria to overcome this difficult ordeal. They called on all countries of the world to work to lift the siege on the oppressed Syrian people, and all free people in the world to unite to lift this unjust siege. They also called on all possible assistance to their country, Syria.

Yemeni politicians call for lifting the siege on Syria to face the repercussions of the earthquake

Meanwhile, in Sana’a, Yemeni politicians and media professionals have called for lifting the unjust Western blockade imposed on Syria to face the effects and repercussions of the earthquake that it was exposed to yesterday, which left hundreds of victims and injured.

Nayef Haidan, a member of the Yemeni Shura Council, said in a statement to SANA’s correspondent in Sana’a that the catastrophe that Syria has been exposed to hurts us a lot, especially that the western blockade is ongoing and imposed on it by the enemies of humanity and life.

In turn, Mubarak Hizam Al-Assali, editor-in-chief of the Yemeni Al-Masir newspaper called for sending aid, medical personnel and air bridges to help Syria to face the effects of the earthquake.

In turn, the Yemeni politician Abdul Basit Hajib Al-Amiri called for lifting the siege on Syria and said that in the event of natural disasters occurring in a country in the world, the humanitarian situation is supposed to be outside any political calculations.

Muhammad Shamsan, a Yemeni journalist also appealed to all humanitarian and Arab organizations to stand by the Syrian people and the Syrian state, and to provide the necessary assistance and support in order to mitigate the damage resulting from this disaster.
