UAE to send rescue team and urgent supplies to Syria

On February 6th, the United Arab Emirates announced its intention to establish a field hospital, and to send a search and rescue team and relief supplies to Syria to help it overcome the repercussions of today’s earthquake.

The Emirates News Agency said: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, gave instructions for the establishment of a field hospital, and the dispatch of a search and rescue team as well as urgent relief supplies to those affected by the earthquake in the Syrian Arab Republic, with the aim of helping families in the areas most affected by the repercussions of the earthquake.”

The agency added that these supplies come within the framework of the relations between the United Arab Emirates and Syria, and within the humanitarian role it plays in providing relief to the needy and those affected by various disasters.
