Middle East Council of Churches urges immediate lifting of sanctions on Syria to allow access to all materials to the country
In a statement issued after an emergency meeting held in Beirut in response to the repercussions resulting from the earthquake, the Council called on the international community and the international ecumenical family to provide urgent emergency aid to the region, provided that coordination takes place with the Middle East Council of Churches, churches and their bodies.
The Council underlined that all churches in the Middle East put their capabilities at the disposal of the people affected by the earthquake, from the first moments of the disaster, despite the limited capabilities due to the blockade.
