Syrian Arab army restores stability and security to 72 areas and kills hundreds of terrorists in October

PROVINCES,(ST)_ Foreign-backed Terrorist groups sheltering in the northern and eastern sides of Damascus countryside and in Homs, Aleppo and Idlib provinces were the main target of Thursday-operations which led to the destruction of  a chunk of arms and elimination of dozens of terrorists, according to the official news agency.  

The agency said that the armed forces targeted terrorists’ hideouts and weapons in Barzeh suburb, the eastern Ghouta and in northern Damascus countryside.

It noted that a bomb-making factory was destroyed to the north-west of Yabroud area and an arms dump was pounded in the western farms of Jyroud in al-Qalamon area. 

Besides destruction of weapons, it was reported that at least 20 terrorists were killed and 50 others injured in a tailored operation in al-Nashabeyeh area.

More terrorists were eliminated in several areas in Aleppo, Homs and Idlib provinces when the armed forces raided their hideouts and groupings.

On the other hand, the competent authorities stormed a hideout of terrorists on Aleppo-Hama road and confiscated weapons containing- rifles, grenades, rockets, explosive devices and a big quantity of explosives.

Main achievements 

The main achievements of the Syrian army in the ‘swift and accurate’ operations launched this month nationwide could be summarized by restoring stability and security to 72 areas, including strategic sites, in five provinces and eliminating hundreds of terrorists and further making progress in hunting down terrorists on several axes, mainly in al-Moadameyeh and Barzeh areas  outside Damascus province. 

The operations also led to pave the way for further advance in the ongoing battles in al-Qalamon area, the eastern Ghouta and southern countryside of Damascus and to inflict heavy losses upon terrorists in weapons.

Escalation

The terrorists, during this period, had escalated their attacks against citizens across the country through infiltrating into safe areas, firing shells and rockets on residential ones and blasting car bombs.

Today, they sneaked into towns of al-Jes’a and Tal Majdal outside al-Qameshli province where they killed many locals and burnt several homes.

The locals of the towns clashed with terrorists and flushed out them from there.

Another terrorist attack happened outside Damascus as terrorists fired shells on Jaramana and al-Dwel’a suburbs, killing 2citizens and leaving 27 others wounded. 

Terrorists kill 108, wound 456 in a month

In October, at least 108 citizens were martyred and 456 others wounded in tens of mortar attacks and 8 car bombings nationwide, according to number of casualties reported daily by the official news agency.
