Death toll from devastating earthquake rises to 711 in Aleppo, Hama, Lattakia and Tartous: Health Ministry

Damascus- Ministry of Health on Monday announced that the death toll from the earthquake that rocked Syria early this morning has risen to 711 in the provinces of Lattakia, Aleppo, Hama and Tartous.

1431 people were injured, the ministry said, noting that the toll in non-final

Dr. Ahmed Damiriya, Assistant Health Minister, stated in a statement to a SANA reporter that 4 truckloads of medicines, surgical, and emergency supplies were sent to Aleppo, Lattakia and Hama. In addition, medical convoys from the health directorates of Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Quneitra, Homs and Tartous were sent to the affected areas in the governorates of Aleppo and Lattakia.

Also, 28 ambulances and 7 mobile clinics were sent from Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Quneitra, Homs and Tartous, as a kibd of medical support for Aleppo and Lattakia, he pointed out

Dr. Damiriah indicated that the emergency management room in the Ministry of Health is assessing the situation in a timely and proactive manner, explaining that all public and private health facilities are in a state of constant alert in all governorates.

He pointed out that the management of medical convoys in the governorates is carried out on an instantaneous basis, (equipped ambulances and their staff – equipped mobile clinics and their staff – supply vehicles that include emergency and surgical supplies and medicines), and sending them to the affected areas.
