Syrian Arab army strikes sites of terrorists outside Damascus, eliminates al-Nusra Front Emir in Der Ezzour province
PROVINCES,(ST)_Fighting has renewed in several areas in Aleppo province amid reports of starting an operation against terrorists’ sites in two flashpoint areas in southern Damascus countryside and eliminating the emir of al-Nusra front in Der Ezzour province.
The renewed fighting, which broke out between the Syrian army and the ‘opposition gunmen’, took place today on the outskirts of Hanano barrack and Bestan al-Qasr quarters in Aleppo province, according to the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV channel.
No details were reported about the result of the fighting.
On the other hand, the TV channel said that the Syrian army started launching strikes against ‘opposition gunmen’ sites in towns of Ghazaleh and Sbeneh near al-Sayedeh Zainab area in southern Damascus countryside.
The new military operation comes few weeks after the armed forces imposed control over al-Hseneyeh and al-Dyabeyeh areas in the same direction.
It coincided with clashes in quarters of al-Hammadin and al-Mansheyeh and in surrounding of the old customs area and school of ‘7 April’ in southern Daraa province.
According to Alikhbaria al-Soreyeh TV channel, many terrorists, including non-Syrians, were mowed down there.
More terrorists were eliminated in the unrelenting fighting in al-Hweqa and al-Reshdeyeh quarters in Der Ezzour province.
Al-Nusra front emir in al-Reshdeyeh quarter, who is also founder and ringleader of ‘Al-fatihon from the Levant” brigade, was among the dead, Alikhbaria al-Soreyeh confirmed.
Massacre in Homs
In a separate incident, the Syrian TV channel said that an armed terrorist group killed many locals of al-Shlouh town outside Tal Kalkh area in central Homs province and destroyed several homes in an attack on the town.
Another terrorist attack happened in the capital [Damascus] when shells landed on Baghdad Street leaving casualties.
At least 8 citizens were wounded by the mortar attack, according to the state-run TV channel.
