Minister Al-Mikdad also expressed Syria’s high appreciation for the assistance provided by China, praising the role of this assistance in strengthening the steadfastness of the Syrians. He expressed Syria’s aspiration for China’s wide contribution to the process of rebuilding what was destroyed by terrorism.
Minister Al-Mikdad renewed Syria’s support for China to preserve the unity of its land and people and the principle of one China.
In turn, Ambassador Hongwei expressed his pride in being appointed as an ambassador to Syria and his return to work in Damascus, praising Syria’s positions in support of China in the face of attempts to interfere in its internal affairs and the attempts of some countries to undermine its unity and sovereignty.
The ambassador affirmed his intention to work on strengthening the existing cooperation between Syria and China in various political, economic and cultural fields, and his endeavor to develop and expand this cooperation to include other sectors and broader fields in a way that achieves the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries and their common interests.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister wished Ambassador Hongwei success in his duties, stressing that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates will provide him with all necessary facilitations, in cooperation with various Syrian authorities, to serve the development of relations between the two countries.
