“Al-Hakim” film participates in Al-Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran

The feature film “Al-Hakim”, directed by Basil Al-Khatib and produced by the General Film Corporation, participated in the forty-first Al-Fajr International Film Festival, which kicked off on Wednesday in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

The scenario of the film, which was written Diana Jabbour in the form of a feature film, is considered her first cinematic experience.

Incidents of the film take place in a remote rural town. They tell the story of a doctor who devoted his time and life to serving the people of the town, with his professional and life experiences.

The film focused on the state of social deterioration left by the war and its repercussions on people’s behavior, destinies and morals, through the wise man’s confrontation with a personal crisis during his granddaughter’s visit to him. The film put the recipient in front of the condition of whether he would face his crisis alone or not after all that he presented to the people of the town.

The director of the festival, Mojtaba Amini, stated that 578 films have been registered on the festival’s website, and out of this number, the advisory board chose 26 works from 25 countries.

He pointed out that the enemies of his country tried to disturb the peace of this cinematic event, but that their attempts failed after the wide participation from inside and outside the country was achieved.

For his part, the director of public relations for the festival, Masoud Najafi, referred to the statistics regarding the sale of tickets in the festival to see the participating works, and that they amounted to more than 6.5 thousand tickets in the first two hours of selling tickets.

It is worth noting that “Al-Hakim”  film, co-starring both artists Duraid Lahham and Sabah Al-Jazaery, is the second cinematic collaboration between artist Duraid Lahham and director Basil Al-Khatib, after they met with the movie “Damascus-Aleppo”.
