Double Standards Again

The joint statement of the representatives of the United States, France, Britain and Germany in Geneva after their meeting with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General to Syria accusing Syria of the Douma “chemical attack” in 2018  is nothing but a repetition and a desperate attempt to pursue their efforts to prolong the crisis in Syria and justify their violations of Syria’s sovereignty and their attempt to interfere in its internal affairs.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement: It is ironic that these countries did not address Security Council Resolution 2253 on combating terrorism, nor  Resolution 2672, which provides support for early recovery projects. This can only  mean  that there is  continued support for terrorism in addition to  obstruction of efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in Syria, especially electricity, which affects various aspects of life.

The Foreign Ministry added: If these countries were truly keen on the humanitarian situation in Syria, they would have  immediately lifted their unilateral, inhuman and immoral coercive measures against the Syrian people.

Since the onset of the crisis in Syria these countries have resolutely turned a deaf ear to any rhetoric except the one that serves their interests. They have been in constant denial over the terrorist work of the White Helmets who orchestrated many ‘chemical attacks ” in order to accuse the Syrian government going even as far as doctoring the evidence in favour of the white helmets!!
The Syrians have many questions to ask of the West , but the most basic one is “Why are the Syrian people never heard-their life ruining problems never addressed and mostly why are  there many standards and what is applied to one is never applied to the other- a prime example of this is Israel!
