Hasakah Governor discusses with representatives of international organizations priorities and needs of the province

The Governor of Hasakah, Dr. Louay Sayouh, discussed with representatives of the international organizations operating in the province of Hasakah the priorities of the province’s needs during the current year, specifically in the field of health and water, which will reflect positively on the lives of citizens.
Sayouh affirmed that the Syrian government will continue to provide services to the people according to the available capabilities, despite all the obstacles represented by the presence of the American and Turkish occupations. The Governor called on international organizations to increase the support provided in the health, water and relief aid sectors.
The governor expressed the governorate’s readiness to provide the necessary support and facilities for the work of international organizations, in order to deliver humanitarian and relief aid to the most needy groups in the governorate that are going through difficult and harsh conditions. These harsh conditions are represented in the cutting off of drinking water by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries and the lack of water resources for supporting the agricultural sector, which negatively affected the citizens in the governorate, since the majority depend on agriculture as a primary source of income.
During the meeting, the Director of Al-Hasakah Health, Dr. Issa Khalaf, presented an overview of the health situation in the governorate, and the damages that affected health facilities during the past years and their repercussions on reality, calling for the need to provide the necessary support to convert the modernized medical center in the city of Al-Hasakah into a national hospital after Al-Hasakah National Hospital was out of service.
For his part, the head of Hasakah City Council, Eng. Adnan Khajo, called for the continued support of international organizations for the Council’s work, especially with regard to supporting cleaning projects and repairing the mechanisms of the City Council and supporting it with tanks for water transportation, in addition to digging wells within the city center to secure water, especially with the Turkish occupation continuing to cut off drinking water.
The meeting called for the exception of Al-Hasakah Governorate from the rate of reducing food baskets, which amounts to 10 percent, taking into account its conditions and the living situation resulting from the blockade imposed on the country. It stressed the need to coordinate with the organizations that provide and install reservoirs with the Water Corporation to ensure fair distribution so that it serves the largest number of people.
Representatives of the offices of the international organizations expressed their willingness to provide more support by preparing plans that meet the needs of the governorate in coordination with government institutions, especially with regard to the health, water and education sectors.
