Islamabad (ST): Pakistani Oil Minister Mossadeq Malik announced that his country will start buying oil from Russia next April.
Malik said in a statement today, reported by Sputnik agency: “In March, all trade terms of the agreement with Russia will be completed, and then in April, low-cost crude oil will begin to reach Pakistan, and the sale process will be in a currency other than the dollar.”
He pointed out that at the present time, Russian companies do not have gas to export to Pakistan, but for the upcoming winter season, under another agreement, Pakistan will be able to purchase immediate LNG shipments from two companies identified by the Russian government.
