Cyprus: Turkey prevents Cypriot-flagged ships from implementing the UN Black Sea Grain initiative

Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides said that Turkey prevent the Cypriot-flagged vessels from participating in implementing the UN Black Sea grain initiative.

The Russian Novosti News Agency cited the Cypriot Foreign Ministry as saying that Kasoulides has welcomed the resumption of the UN Black Sea grain initiative, but he expressed frustration that Cyprus will not be able to participate in this initiative because of the ban imposed by Turkey on the Cypriot ships.

Agreements on food exports from Ukraine were concluded on July 22 for 120 days. They were renewed automatically on 19 November, 2022, as none of the sides (Russia, the UN, Ukraine and Turkey) were against it.
