European Parliamentarian: We refuse to accept hegemony of Washington and NATO over European decisions

Representative of Spain in the European Parliament, Serra Rego, expressed her absolute rejection of the continued domination of the United States and NATO countries over the European decision, and the dragging of the European Union countries behind them in tothe Ukrainian conflict.

Rego said, “The continuation of the main members of NATO, especially the United States, in imposing their hegemony, interests and ambitions at the expense of the common and necessary security policy within the European Union countries, including Spain, is absolutely unacceptable.”

Rego called on the Spanish government to support the necessary diplomatic negotiations to put an end to the armed conflict in Ukraine, and to stop the military escalation in the region. She stressed her refusal to place Spain on the list of countries that support the escalation of armaments in this conflict instead of giving priority to diplomatic channels, and searching for alternatives and measures that can contribute to ending the conflict.

she said: “The public funds that are taken out of the pockets of Spanish citizens should have been used to cover the social needs that were caused and exacerbated by the economic effects of the conflict in Ukraine instead of being used in the escalation of armaments, which serves the interests of some of the usual and well-known parties.
