Raisi: Isolating women and keeping them on the margin is unacceptable and doomed to failure

Tehran (ST): Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi affirmed that women should take the place that befits them, and not be on the margins or in isolation within societies, stressing that the hardened view of women and the West’s treatment of them as a tool are both doomed to failure and unacceptable.

In his speech to the participants in the first international conference of influential women in all fields, which began today in Tehran, Raisi expressed his satisfaction with the Islamic Republic of Iran hosting elite, high-ranking and influential women from different countries, wishing them success in taking a step towards achieving women’s rights in the world through the exchange of ideas and strive to implement them.

Raisi explained that this conference and the talks taking place during it could open the way for cooperation between countries and peoples in this field.

The Iranian president referred to the important and influential role of female historians, scholars, artists and politicians in the history of Europe, Africa and Asia, adding: Iranian women, for their part, play an important role in scientific, cultural, social and political events.

Raisi noted the influential role of Palestinian women in the resistance of the Palestinian people against the Zionist occupation.

Raisi stressed that Iran’s message today to all countries is a message of peace, friendship, reassurance, and wishes for a secure life for all peoples, territories of all countries, and we are friends with our neighbors in difficult times.”

The activities of the first international conference for influential women in all fields began in Tehran today with the participation of Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, representing the First Lady of the Syrian Arab Republic, Asma al-Assad, and a delegation of Syrian women, at the invitation of Dr. Jamila Sadat Alam al-Huda, the wife of the Iranian President.
