Putin and Raisi stress the importance of continuous coordination within the framework of Astana process on Syria

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi stressed, during a phone call today the importance of the continuity of coordination within the framework of the Astana process on Syria, as a mechanism to enhance the settlement process in the country.

The Russian presidency said in a statement: “Putin and Raisi discussed, during the phone call, the situation in Syria, and stressed the importance of continuing close coordination between the two countries within the framework of the Astana process, as a main mechanism to enhance the settlement process in Syria.”

The presidency indicated that the two sides discussed issues related to bilateral relations, including cooperation in the energy and transport sectors, and they agreed on continuous contacts at various levels.
