Arab international campaign to lift the siege on Syria: The sanctions are a crimes against humanity and genocide
Beirut, (ST) – The Arab and International Campaign to Lift the Siege on Syria condemned the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people. It called for international action to lift these measures.
The campaign indicated in a statement on Wednesday, a copy of which SANA received, that these American measures against the Syrian citizens fall within the framework of crimes against humanity and genocide.
It added that these measures target an entire people, which requires action at the international and humanitarian level to confront them.
The statement stated that “the Arab and international campaign to lift the siege on Syria, in which thousands of Arab and international personalities participate, strongly rejects these illegal and inhuman American measures against the Syrian people. We call on the United Nations and international organizations concerned with health, social and human rights affairs to move to lift these measures, and all measures that lead to a siege on the Syrian people.
The campaign called on the Union of Arab Lawyers and Jurists and their international counterparts to take action at international courts to nullify these measures. It also renewed its call on all freedom-loving people the world, parties, unions and concerned bodies to move popularly and politically to drop the US blockade imposed on the Syrian people.
There is a need to lift the unjust economic measures imposed on Syria, says Bakri
Dr. Mustafa Bakri, the Egyptian writer and journalist has stressed the need to lift the unjust Western economic coercive measures imposed on Syria, pointing out that the Syrian people suffered a lot as a result of this siege that lasted for many years.
Bakri said in a speech within the context of the Arab and international popular campaign to lift the siege on Syria that Syria has always been a fortress in the face of extremism and terrorist takfiri ideas. He pointed out that the plot against Syria and the Arab resistance has become clear.
Bakri added that the United States of America and the West are at the forefront of the conspiracy against Syria, in addition to other countries.
