Young Shahd Ahmed: Oil works and portrait  document a distinguished talent

Tartous (ST): Despite her young age, Shahd Thaer Ahmed was able, with her small fingers and her passion for the world of drawing, to turn white pages into artistic paintings that attract viewers and touch their imaginations.
Shahd from the city of Tartous spoke about the beginnings of her talent in drawing and said: I fell in love with drawing since the age of six and developed myself with the help of my older brother, who was teaching me some drawing techniques and basic rules. Then I followed multiple courses to learn the origins and types of drawing, how to draw with a feather, by hand, even with wood, and the mechanism of using colors and their mixing, all of this from the age of seven and for a period of five years.
She pointed out that drawing for her is fun and part of her life, as she tries to draw various things based on the classical school because it adopts the basis of proportions, colors and ideal lighting and shows the artwork in the best possible way, indicating that she uses different tools in her paintings, including pencil, feather, cloth and white paper.
Shahd’s paintings vary between oils, portraits, and acrylics, as she contemplates what her eyes see and draws it, adding her own touch to each possible part through various colors.
She added that she participated in several exhibitions, where her work was encouraged by her family and friends, and admiration from people, but despite that, she does not currently want to market her work, as she aspires to reach professionalism in drawing as required.
In addition to her passion for drawing, Shahd enjoys reading. She has  read the books of many writers such as “Hanna Mineh and Agatha Christie,” sending a message to the people of her generation not to give up or stop, whatever the circumstances, because frustration, as she puts it, steals the passion that exists in the human soul and makes it lose its gleam.
