The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine calls for intervention to protect the Christian presence in Al-Quds

The Higher Presidential Committee of Churches Affairs in Palestine called on the churches of the world to take a firm and serious stance to save the Palestinian Christian presence, especially in the occupied city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), in the light of the escalation of the Israeli occupation’s attacks and threats to displace them from their lands and homes.
The Chairman of the Committee, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Ramzi Khoury, called in a message to the churches of the world to take immediate action, pressure their governments to implement United Nations resolutions, and grant the Palestinian people all their legitimate rights, stressing that the Palestinians, Muslims and Christians, deserve to live a normal and dignified life like the rest peoples of the world without restrictions and barriers, and the churches of the world must be partners in achieving justice and peace.
Khoury warned of the repercussions of the escalation of settler terrorism towards the Palestinians, especially in occupied Al-Quds, their increasing attacks on church property under the protection of the occupation forces and their seizure early this year of land belonging to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in the Silwan neighborhood of occupied Al-Quds. He referred to the occupation’s violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque and its attempts to change the historical and geographical situation of the Holy City, in violation of international legitimacy and coventions.
