168 facilities back in service in the industrial zone in Deir Ezzor

168 industrial and crafts facilities are back in service in the Industrial Zone in the city of Deir Ezzour after the rehabilitation of most of the facilities and infrastructure in it. 

The Industrial Zone has been out of service since 2012 and has been affected by destruction as a result of terrorism. 

The Head of the Deir Ezzouor City Council, Engineer Jarir Kakakhanindicated that an integrated work plan has been developed to revive and rehabilitate the industrial zone, in cooperation between the city council, service departments, and international organizations operating in Syria

He said that among the completed works is the removal of rubble and the rehabilitation of the sewage system covers a distance of 1,000 meters, the water network covers a distance of 4,000 meters, 30 solar lighting poles are installed, and a police station is installed in the middle of the area. 

He pointed out that the plan includes the implementation of a communications network and electrical network works, to connect the current to the entire region during the coming days

He indicated that the Executive Office of the City Council asked the owners of shops and industrial crafts to transfer their work to the industrial zone, and to close the craft activities that were opened randomly in the neighborhoodduring the last period. 

He said that the Deir Ezzour City Council opened the road between Ghassan Abboud roundabout and the Al-Sina’a neighborhood, with internal transport buses running on this road, to facilitate access to the industrial zone

In turn, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Deir Ezzor, Louay Muhaimid, explained that work is underway to rehabilitate several facilities in the region by their owners
