Georgia: We will not help Ukraine militarily

On January 15th, the Georgian government announced that Tbilisi will not provide military aid to Ukraine because it does not want to get involved in this conflict.

Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Tia Tsulukiani said: “The Georgian authorities will not allow our country to get involved in a military confrontation, and therefore we will of course not be able to provide military assistance to one of the parties to the confrontation in Ukraine,”.

She referred to the possibility of returning the weapons that her country had previously purchased from Ukraine.

Last week, the Ukrainian newspaper Evrobeiskaya Pravda published a report indicating that Kiev had asked Tbilisi to return the Buk air defense systems it delivered to Georgia in 2008.
