Lavrov presents the Medal of Friendship to the former Syrian ambassador to the Russian Federation

Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov presented the Order of Friendship to the former Syrian ambassador to the Russian Federation, Dr. Riyad Haddad, during his reception today at the headquarters of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree awarding Dr. Haddad the Medal of Friendship for his great contribution to strengthening Russian-Syrian relations.

Lavrov thanked Haddad for the work done in Moscow during his presidency of the Syrian diplomatic mission from 2011 to 2022, and wished him more success, expressing his hope that he would continue to contribute to the development of multifaceted cooperation between Russia and Syria.
