SDF militia closes Ghweiran Bridge road in Hasakah to hinder citizens’ movement

Hasakah, (ST) – The US-backed “SDF” militia” closed one of the entrances to the Ghweran neighborhood from the side of the bridge in the city of Hasakah with concrete blocks, which constituted a burden on the people of the neighborhood. These illegal actions are in continuation of “SDF” militia’s  repressive practices against the people,

SANA’s correspondent in Hasakah stated that the “SDF militia” closed the Ghweiran Bridge road permanently, without explaining the reasons, by placing concrete blocks along it to force the people to resort to the far Al-Beiruti Bridge road to reach their homes and places of work.

Local sources from the neighborhood pointed out that the closure of the road in the light of the current  bad weather conditions increases the suffering of the people, especially as they resorted to unpaved road next to the entrance of the neighborhood at Ghweran Bridge, which is the closest to the city center. Children, women, the elderly, school students and people with disabilities are forced to take the unpaved road, the sources added.

The people called on the official authorities, social and religious personalities , notables, and tribal and clan dignitaries to intervene to open the road, and stop the militia’s violations and repressive practices against the citizens in the areas it controls.
