Red Crescent provides free medicines to citizens in several villages in Daraa

Daraa, (ST) –  The mobile clinic of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in Daraa has provided medical examinations and free medicines to those in need in the countryside of Daraa.

The Head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch, Dr. Ahmed Al-Masalmeh, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the clinic began providing its services to citizens with the start of the new year with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). It targets the villages and towns of Atman, Dael, Ibtaa, Al-Taybeh, Khirbet Ghazala and Saida.

Al-Masalmeh said that he work of the clinic staff falls within the framework of alleviating the suffering of citizens from transport problems while trying to obtain medical care. He indicated that long distances and material burdens constitute an obstacle to patients in obtaining the necessary medical care and medicines that they need. “Therefore the mobile clinic seeks to reduce these burdens”, he added.

It is noteworthy that the number of beneficiaries of the mobile clinic services during the year 2022 reached 5,659 people, including men, women and children, who live in 15 areas in the countryside of Daraa.
