Palestinian Ministry of Endowments calls for urgent international action to stop the occupation’s attacks on sanctities

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST): The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments called on the international community to take urgent action to protect Islamic and Christian sanctities and to stop the attacks of the Israeli occupation and settlers, warning of the danger of the continuation of these aggressive practices in the occupied city of Al-Quds.

WAFA news agency quoted the Minister of Awqaf, Hatem al-Bakri, as saying in a report he issued today about the occupation’s violations of the holy places during the year 2022: “The occupation forces and settlers have escalated their aggression against the Palestinians and their sanctities, foremost of which is Al-Aqsa Mosque, by increasing the frequency of storming into it, and the number of settlers, who stormed into the mosque and carried out provocative tours in its courtyeards, to more than 48,000 during the past year.”

Al-Bakri pointed out that the occupation turned the city of Al-Quds and the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque into military barracks, and imposed more restrictions on the movement of Palestinians, by assaulting, beating, detaining and displacing them even during the month of Ramadan, and determining the ages of the groups that are allowed to enter and pray in the mosque, which constitutes a flagrant attack on Millions of Muslims, and a blatant attack on the powers of the Islamic Endowments Department and its legal right to supervise the organization of the movement of worshipers to and from the mosque.

Al-Bakri renewed his warning of the serious dangers facing Al-Aqsa, as a result of the continued excavations of the occupation in the vicinity and below the mosque, which led to increased cracks in its structure, foundations, and walls, and the fall of dust from the columns of the old Al-Aqsa prayer hall.
