“Blood Stained Freedom” Operetta….. honors the heroic epics of the Syrian Arab Army

In commemorating the honorable martyrs of Syria whose pure blood illuminated the path to victory, preserved national sovereignty and defeated terrorism, a group of singers performed the “Blood Stained Freedom” Operetta on the stage of Damascus Opera House.

The operetta included a number of patriotic songs performed by singers Moe’in Shreif, Linda Bitar and Shadi Jamil, while the Syrian National Orchestra of Arabic Music was conducted by Maestro Adnan Fathallah.

The operetta highlighted the Syrian martyrs’ heroism through national songs that have been deep in the minds of Arabs and an affirmation of the deep and strong ties of relationship between the peoples of the resistance despite all the brutal practices to change the Arab region’s history and civilization.

During the evening, the band presented a group of patriotic songs and fulfilled the creative will of the musicians by accomplishing a high-level of artwork, which was widely welcomed and received by the audience with warm applause.

The ceremony concluded with an operetta entitled “Blood Stained Freedom” written by the great Lebanese poet Nizar Francis, composed by Syrian musician Taher Mamelli and directed by the Dean of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Dr. Tamer Al-Arbeed.

The operetta was performed for the first time on the stage of the Damascus Opera House.

The general supervisor of the operetta at the Opera House, Ahmed Zain El-Din, told SANA that “Blood Stained Freedom” is derived from our circumstances – the freedom that we live and breathe at a time when our country is facing attempts to obliterate its identity.

He pointed out that this operetta is a tribute to the martyrs, stressing that music is a universal language that addresses many messages and that the blood stained message of freedom is a message of peace and cooperation in building the human being.

In turn, Maestro Adnan Fathallah, indicated that it was the first time that this theatrical work was presented on the stage of Damascus Opera House.

The three singers affirmed that this work is dedicated to the souls of the martyrs of the Syrian army, expressing their happiness in taking part in it.
