Higher Committee of Churches in Palestine condemns the settlers’ attack on the Evangelical Episcopal Cemetery in Al-Quds

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Higher Committee of Churches Affairs in Palestine condemned the Israeli settlers’ attack on a cemetery belonging to the Evangelical Episcopal Church in occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The committee stated in a statement today, reported by Wafa News Agency, that the settlers,  a few days ago, stormed into a cemetery belonging to the Evangelical Church near the Gate of the Prophet David, one of the gates of the occupied city of Al-Quds, and destroyed crosses and tombstones of dozens of graves.

The committee indicated that this racist attack is part of the occupation authorities and settlers’ violations of the sanctity of Christian and Islamic holy sites in Al-Quds. “This matter comes within the framework of plans to Judaize the city and empty it of the Palestinians”, the committee added.

The committee also indicated that Palestine constantly calls on the United Nations to take a deterrent stance towards the crimes of settlers who are protected by the occupation forces. It called on the international community to break its silence and move seriously to stop the Israeli crimes.
