Damascus, (ST) – The Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Soussan offered condolences on the death of His Holiness, former Pope Benedict XVI, at the Vatican Embassy in Damascus.
Dr. Soussan, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, wrote a word in the embassy’s record, in which he expressed condolences for the passing of Pope Benedict XVI. He praised the virtues of the deceased in upholding spiritual, moral and human values.
The directors of the Protocol, Europe and Information Departments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates participated in the condolences ceremony.
On December 31, 2022, the Vatican announced the death of former Pope Benedict XVI at the age of 95.
