Beirut, (ST) – The Secretary-General of the General Conference of Arab Parties, Qassem Salih affirmed that targeting Syria is an attack on the entire axis of resistance.
He stressed that standing by Syria protects resistance, Palestine and the Arab nation against the American-Zionist plans.
Salih said in a speech in the context of the popular Arab and international campaign to lift the siege imposed on Syria, which was called for by Maan Bashour, the Head of the Arab International Center for Communication and Solidarity, that the so-called American Caesar Act is based on a number of lies and fabricated allegations by parties hostile to the Syrian people. It came within the context of the declared war against the Syrians, in which the dirtiest types of weapons were used such as terrorism, economic blockade, political pressure and misinformation, but all of these evil efforts have failed.
He considered that the US administration’s imposition of this law and its continuation in spite of all its negative effects on the Syrian people is a flagrant violation of the most basic human rights and the international humanitarian law.
Salih said that the economic terrorism that Syria is facing is only the other side of the terrorism that shed the blood of the Syrians and destroyed the decadss old achievements.
He indicated that this American crime targets Syria because of its adherence to national principles, rejection of American dictates and support for the resistance in Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon.
Salih stressed that Syria, whose valiant people and armed forces confronted takfiri terrorism and defeated the hostile project, will confront this unjust blockade with dignity and determination.
He called on the international community to work to lift all forms of illegal unilateral measures against Syria and put an end to these rogue practices that contradict the provisions of ghe international law and lead to escalation of tension in international relations.
Salih addressed all forces, personalities, parties, conferences and unions to show solidarity with Syria and launch a broad campaign that calls for lifting the siege imposed on Syria and all other countries targeted by the U.S. because they stand against its aggressive schemes in the region.
