Gunmen attack a police patrol in the eastern countryside of Daraa, policeman martyred

Daraa , (ST) – An assault by unidentified gunmen with machine guns on a police patrol in the eastern countryside of Daraa claimed the life of a policeman, injured two others and led to the loss of contact with the director of the Giza district.

The Ministry of the Interior stated in a statement on its Telegram account yesterday that unidentified gunmen driving three vehicles opened their machine guns fire at a police patrol consisting of the director of Al-Jiza district and three policemen on Ghasm Al-Jiza road in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

The ministry indicated that the atttack resulted in the death of one of the patrol members, Amer Hamidoush, and the injury of two other policemen and the loss of contact with the district director.

The ministry pointed out that immediately patrols from various police units in Daraa headed to the place, and the body of the martyr and the injured were transferred to Busra Al-Sham Hospital.

Investigations are continuing and research is underway to find the director of the district and arrest the perpetrators.
