Lighting up Christmas tree at St. George Church in Quneitra on Christmas, New Year

The Quneitra province Sunday evening lit up the Christmas tree at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in al-Baath City, in celebration of Christmas and the New Year.

The massive public participation in lighting up the Christmas tree marking the birth day of Jesus Christ, the messenger of love and peace, proves the amity and harmony among the Syrians, Archbishop Mounir Bishara of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Damascus stated, praying to God to protect Syria, its people and army.

For his part, Governor of Quneitra Moataz Abu Al-Nasr Jamran said that the lighting up the tree in this place is a message of peace and amity to the world. It affirms the Syrians’ determination to live despite the circumstances the country is going through, he added.
