Syria, Iran hold talks on cooperation in drama and cinema production to face foreign cultural invasion

A Syrian delegation led by Deputy Minister of Information Ahmad Dawa on Saturday held talks with Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili on enhancing media cooperation.

The Iranian minister affirmed the importance of media cooperation to confront the misleading western propaganda launched against Iran and Syria and to inform the world public opinion of what is really going on in the two countries.

He called for exchanging media expertise in a way that serves the two countries’ vision on issues of common interest, suggesting forming a joint committee for confronting the lies and the misleading western media campaigns targeting both countries.

He expressed his willingness to provide necessary assistance to the Syrian side in the domains of media, drama and cinema.

Dawa, for his part, stressed the need to confront the western media campaigns which falsify facts in Syria and Iran and aim at aggravating the situation and fueling discord in the two countries to undermine their stability and independence.

He pointed out that during the visit of the Syrian media delegation to Tehran some joint plans were developed to enhance the joint media and artistic work.

He clarified that the situation of the drama and cinema works in the two countries was reviewed during the visit, affirming the important role played by the drama and cinema in affecting the world public opinion and serving the two countries’ issues.

Dawa called for producing joint drama and cinema works that aim at confronting foreign cultural invasion.
