Pyongyang: Washington’s attempt to issue a Security Council statement against us is a foolish move that could have serious consequences

Pyongyang (ST): The DPRK criticized the US attempts to issue a statement from the UN Security Council against its recent defensive steps.

The DPRK news agency quoted a spokesman for the DPRK’s Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement today: “The United States is now trying to prepare a presidential statement from the Security Council condemning the exercise of our right to self-defense, and we warn that such a foolish attempt by the United States could have very serious consequences.”

The spokesperson added “Whether it is a presidential statement or something else, adopting a document that uses the name of the United Nations and stands against our legitimate right of self-defense is ultimately a disregard for the sovereignty of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and a serious attempt to interfere in its internal affairs.

The Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that the attempt to rob the right of self-defense, which is the essence of the national sovereignty of any country, is a very serious challenge and will be dealt with by all measures, indicating that his country is closely monitoring the reckless behavior of the United States, which continues to launch provocations for which it bears sole responsibility.
