Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Israeli occupation authorities announced that they would not hand over the body of the Palestinian martyr Nasser Abu Hamid to his family in flagrant violation of human rights and international laws.
Palestinian media reported that the Israeli Minister of War Benny Gantz announced after a meeting with a number of occupation officials today that the body of Abu Hamid will not be handed over, bringing the number of the bodies of the martyrs held by the occupation to 10.
The President of the Palestinian National Council Ruhi Fattouh said in a statement: “The criminal occupation did not only commit the crime of assassinating the prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid through medical negligence, but it brazenly refuses to hand over his body to his family, in flagrant violation of international laws and norms.
Yesterday, the Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid was martyred after the occupation refused to release him despite the serious deterioration of his health after entering a coma due to the policy of deliberate medical negligence by the occupation authorities.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on the international community, the United Nations and its concerned bodies to pressure the occupation as to release Abu Hamid’s body so that his family could bury him in a manner that match his sacrifices.
Dozens of Palestinians were injured yesterday as a result of the occupation’s attack on sit-ins and demonstrations that took place in the cities and towns of the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip to condemn the occupation’s crime of killing Abu Hamid, and to demand the recovery of his body and the rest of the bodies of the martyrs held by the occupation.
The occupation is holding the bodies of more than 357 Palestinian martyrs, most of them are from the West Bank, including 55 bodies of martyrs from the Gaza Strip and 10 bodies of martyrs who died in the occupation detention centers, the last of whom was the martyr Abu Hamid.
