OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, Dec.20, (ST)- Several Palestinians were shot and injured with live ammunition and rubber-coated-steel bullets, while many others were nearly suffocated by tear gas fired by Israeli occupation forces during clashes that broke out in multiple areas in the Hebron area, in the southern West Bank, according to security sources.
Clashes broke out in al-Aroub refugee camp to the north of Hebron, during which occupation forces fired live ammunition against the camp residents, shooting and injuring three youths in their legs. Others were reportedly injured after being struck with rubber-coated steel bullets.
Many others nearly suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.
Clashes also took place at the entrance to the town of Beit Ummar, causing a number of people to nearly suffocate and faint due to tear gas inhalation. Forces further took over the rooftops of several houses and commercial shops in the town.
Similar clashes were witnessed in Bab al-Zawyeh area, in central Hebron, leading to several suffocation cases among Palestinians.
A number of Palestinians nearly suffocated tonight after inhaling tear gas fired at them by Israeli occupation forces during clashes that broke out in the village of Husan to the west of Bethlehem, according to local sources.
Sources told WAFA correspondent that clashes broke out at the eastern entrance to the village, during which occupation forces fired stun grenades and tear gas canisters toward the village residents, causing a number of people to nearly suffocate.
They were all treated at the scene.
– Moreover, a Palestinian teenager was shot and injured in the head with rubber-coated steel bullets during clashes that broke out this evening in the town of Abu Dis, east of occupied Jerusalem, according to local sources.
Sources told WAFA that clashes erupted in the town of Abu Dis, during which Israeli forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets and tear gas canisters toward Palestinian locals, shooting and injuring a 17-year-old teenager in the head with rubber-coated-steel bullets.
The teenage boy was taken to hospital, where his condition was described as moderate.
According to sources, Israeli forces fired at the boy from a very short distance and physically attacked the teen’s parents who tried to prevent the soldiers from detaining their son.
Furthermore, Israeli occupation forces this evening sealed off the town of Azzoun to the east of Qalqilia.
Sources informed WAFA that Israeli forces stormed the town of Azzoun and closed the metal gate placed at its main entrance in addition to another sub-entrance, preventing residents from entering or leaving.
Palestinians across the West Bank rallied today to condemn the Israeli crimes against Palestinian prisoners and the killing of prisoner Naser Abu Hmaid in Israeli jails after years of battling with cancer as a result of the continued policy of medical negligence in Israeli jails.
